Dear parents / Carers
Welcome to the new term at Mitchell Walk Playgroup, We hope you all had a fantastic summer holiday with your children. We would like to welcome back our staff and children that were with us before, Also say a big welcome to the new children and parents about to start their journey with us at Mitchell Walk.
Fund-raising
Mitchell Walk playgroup is charity run, We do lots of different things to try and raise money for the Playgroup. We would like to remind you all that we are not a government funded playgroup. We are a voluntary committee that are always looking for new parents to join us with new ideas.
Sponsored peddle / push
Just a quick reminder for those of you who were with us last term, could you please can bring in your sponsored peddle / push money and completed forms when you can.
End of term party
We had the end of term party that was a great success all the children seemed to have a great time and the entertainer we hired Wayne Wonder was brilliant with the children, They seem to really enjoy the entertainer and party food. With this in mind we will be having another party at the end of the year, we hope to see most of you there.

If you have any concerns with regard to your child settling in or any other matters you would like to talk to the staff about, please ask when you take or collect your child from setting or contact Karen on 07920512180 and a time can be arranged for you ta have a chat. The staff are here to help you as well as your children, we understand it can be hard to leave your children when they first start at a new place. We like to work closely with our parents which helps the children to settle in and they feel happier when the parents are happy to leave them. Please if you are at all worried the staff are always there to help.
Activities
Just to give you some idea to some of the activities your children will be doing at Mitchell Walk ,to use the outside play equipment which includes the climbing frames, Several bikes ,balls and role playing toys. They use the garden on a daily basis. Karen also has extra fun things for them to do outside which include planting seeds and going on nature walks and picnics in the neighbouring field. They have lots of different activities for indoor play, some of which the children can do as a group or individually. These include playdough, painting, gluing, sticking, the sand and water play. We have been known to bring a fresh grass turf into setting which the children really enjoyed. There is a lot of other items that we use on a regular basis to teach the children about all aspects of life. The staff also encourage the children to play along side one another as well as spending time with their keyworker on a one to one.

Introduction of late collection fee.
Unfortunately due to the increasing number of times parents were late to collect their children over the last term, we feel we have to introduce a fine for the repeat offenders of this from now on. We do understand that from time to time things happen and you maybe a little late to pick up, If you are going to be late please call Karen and let her know. Obviously you will not be charged for a one off but if it becomes repetitive you will incur the fine of £10.00 per day if you continue to collect your child late.
Mitchell Walk Playgroup T-shirts
Here at Mitchell Walk we have for sale T-shirts for your little ones with our logo on, The Children love them and it does save the mess on their everyday clothes as we all love doing messy activities. If you are interested in purchasing one please ask a member of staff or alternatively e-mail Michelle on djh2005@talktalk.net
If anyone is interested in becoming a member of the committee that would be great as we always need help and new people to bring new ideas. If you have and ideas on fund - raising we would love to hear from you.
